Top Blogger
Who is the Top Blogger? It’s such a difficult question to answer if you think about it. What even constitutes the Top Blogger? Is it uniques, pageviews, number of comments, number of Twitter Followers, detail of the posts, or can it even be measured through analytics?
The Top Blogger based on analytics
If we were to take a look at this question and develop an answer through objective analytics alone, we would come up with the following list:
- Arianna Huffington - The Huffington Post
- Michael Arrington - Tech Crunch
- Engadget
- Mark Frauenfelder - Boing Boing
- Pete Cashmore - Mashable
- Lifehacker
- Ars Tecnica
- Gizmodo
- Christian Lander - Stuff White People Like
- Smashing Magazine
But this list doesn’t really encompass the Top Blogger. It’s not just about the traffic you get, but the influence you have on society and the internet.
The Top Blogger in this day in age is not a blogger at all
The top blogger is really a vlogger. His name is Gary Vaynerchuk.
Gary Vaynerchuk is passionate about passion, and he spreads his message online using social media. He teaches people how to leverage social media to really do something that they love.
In a survey conducted by Future Delivery that asked the question “Who is most influential”, Gary Vaynerchuk beat out Tim Ferriss 87% to 13%. An overwhelming majority of people online idolize Gary Vaynerchuk because he really cares about every single person that sends him an email and that leaves him a comment on his blog.
The Top Blogger is measured by influence
It’s really all about your social influence. Those who have influence are able to teach others, set trends, and become a spring board for others to do what they love.
Think about it like this, if you love cars, then it is very possible for you to build a career in cars. Here are the steps you should take to turn your dreams into reality:
- Read and comment on car blogs
- Read and comment on car forums
- Create a Twitter account and chat with everyone who Tweets about cars
- Start a blog about cars and write quality content
- Reach out to other car bloggers and ask to write a guest post
- Go to car events and pass out your business card with your blog on it
If you do these things, then you will become an expert in the car world. Yes, it will take a lot of work, but if you work hard enough, then you will succeed. You might never be able to race cars as a career, but you will become an expert in a field that you love.
It takes luck and hard work
A big part of being a top blogger is luck. But in order to have luck, you need to work hard to set yourself up in a position where getting lucky means becoming successful. You can do it!
